Let our words

be the poultice

that draws forth

our humanity.

Let our words be spoken

in the spare sentences of the heart.

Let them come to life

to open, heal and create.

Let our words

draw the poison

of disappointment and loss.

and restore the spirit of the people.

Let our words be our legacy

to our children’s children;  

Let them hear how we upheld

the dream of our age.
